World Suicide Prevention Day at SWE center
On World Suicide Prevention Day, today, our dedicated psycho-social counselor, Jyoti Lama, led a powerful awareness session focusing on tackling suicidal thoughts. The session covered vital aspects including stress management through breathing exercises, a discussion on global suicide statistics, an overview of suicide and suicidal behavior, and the importance of sharing personal challenges.
Participants explored risk factors and warning signs, reflected on building a supportive network, and learned practical ways to overcome suicidal thoughts. The session concluded with participants writing down inspiring thoughts, sharing the National Suicide Prevention Helpline (1166), and creating a “Hope Tree” to symbolize strength and resilience.
Let’s stand together in fostering hope and support for those in need.
