Yesterday, i.e. 2nd of July, on the seventh and final day of the Drug Awareness and Crime Prevention Week, Sano Paila and its partners organized Candle Night Memorial and Musical Evening at Ghantaghar, Birgunj.

The evening was duly joined by our partners from various sectors. The candles were lit up in the warm memories of late drug users. During the course of this, we presented our heartfelt sympathy towards all the drug users who left this world too early.

Addressing the evening, Prakash Basnet, Inspector of Nepal Police presented his commitment in working round the clock to minimize the abuse of drugs and illicit trafficking. He also asked the participants to support the police in every possible way to reach out to the roots of the illicit traffickers.

Then the surrounding was made musical by artists comprising of Ex-Drug Users and the locals. To raise awareness against drugs and crime, and to disseminate the message ‘Get High on Music, not on Drugs’, the musical evening ‘सडकमा संगीत’ was organized.
