Last week, our team members attended an orientation in Janakpur for the implementation of our project under the USAID CSM and The Asia Foundation. During the session, they had the opportunity to learn about the initiatives of other partner organizations working in Madhesh. This was an excellent opportunity for us to network with fellow partners and gain insights into the compliance and project management guidelines of USAID and The Asia Foundation.
Sano Paila is currently implementing the “Empower, Educate, Minimize: Ending Witchcraft Allegations Against Women in Madhesh,” funded by the USAID Civil Society and Media (USAID CSM) program with The Asia Foundation as the lead implementer. The goal is to sensitize communities against harmful practices of witchcraft and to help women and girls from Dalit and marginalized communities speak up against the harmful practice of witchcraft. This includes giving them opportunities to participate in public discussions, where they can raise awareness and challenge the beliefs and practices related to witchcraft.
As we continue to work alongside our partners and community members, we remain committed to driving positive change and ensuring that every woman and girl in Madhesh can live free from fear and discrimination.
