Call for Expression of Interest

Sano Paila (A Little Step) is commissioned by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH under Capacity Building and Finance for National Action on Climate and Biodiversity (CBF), to develop the Mobility plan for Birendranagar Municipality, Surkhet in two years. The primary objective of the Mobility Plan for Birendranagar Municipality is to develop the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan of the Birendranagar Municipality to improve the transportation system for roads and mobility management of the municipality to make it carbon-free and people-friendly.

Thus, Sano Paila is seeking an Expression of Interest from qualified Nepali nationals working in the sector of Climate Actions for the above project within 10 days of the announcement for the position below:

Work Location:                          Provincial Office, Sanepa-2, Lalitpur with frequent visits to Birendranagar

Grade & Salary benefits:            D.3 Manager / Chief | As per project norms | non-negotiable

Reports to:                                Head of Programs & Services

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Project Manager will coordinate the overall management and implementation of the project, will manage the performance of all activities of the project, and will assume direct responsibility for coordination, communication as well as quality control of the project’s outputs. S/he will be responsible for the management of the Project Team and will coordinate and liaise with selected organizations to allocate duties for the efficiency and success of the project. S/he will plan the tasks for non-key experts. S/he will organize all aspects of the technical project work, ensure good communication with all project stakeholders, and will be the main contact person for all communication with the relevant institutions.

Education, Experience, and Skills:

Master of Technology in Environmental Engineering / Transportation Engineering or equivalent with more than 1 year of experience in local climate action initiatives, preferably sustainable urban mobility. S/he should have sound experience in project management and report writing. S/he shall be able to mobilize essential resources to achieve the project’s primary objective.
